Our Directors have worked on a voluntary basis to establish, maintain and develop the MS-CoP since its inception in 2022 and its formation as a CIC in 2025. We rely on project funding for our activities. We are seeking core funding to provide a salaried Director role for a professional with lived experience and enable us to offer other senior and team roles in the Modern Slavery Community of Practice.
Rachel Witkin

Rachel is an Anti-Trafficking speaker, trainer, author and international consultant. She has worked over years as an expert for OSCE/ODIHR, and its International Survivors of Trafficking Advisory Council (ISTAC). She is an Honorary Affiliate (former Director) of the Helen Bamber Foundation, and a Visiting Fellow at St Mary's University, where she teaches on the Independent Modern Slavery Advocates (IMSA) PG Cert course . Her publications include OSCE/ODIHR National Referral Mechanism Handbook and related guidances, the Trauma-Informed Code of Conduct for All Professionals working with Trafficking and Slavery (TiCC) and the UK Slavery and Trafficking Survivor Care Standards

Sian Oram
Sian is the Head of the Section of Women’s Mental Health and Professor of Trauma and Recovery at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience at King’s College London. Her research focuses on interpersonal trauma, its intersection with sex and gender and with institutional and societal structure, and its relationship to mental health. She has an interest in developing methods for safe, ethical, and participatory research with and by people affected by trauma and abuse, and has expertise in qualitative methods, evidence synthesis, and evaluation research.
Arnas Tamasauskas
Arnas works on funding and operations management, as well as facilitation of partnerships between organisations, and design of MS-CoP brand. He is a Neuropsychology PhD Candidate at the University of Liverpool. He has published research on neurological differences in people with chronic pain or pain insensitivity conditions, and the impact of chronic health conditions on daily functioning. Additionally, Arnas works as a Participation & Engagement Officer at Child Bereavement UK.
